In the olden days you were not able to obtain music so quickly as you are now, and the presence of a physical record made it much easier (for me at least) to remember my tunes. Hell I can't even remember the track names sometimes let alone the artist. I bought about 15 tracks for my next mix session, I listen to them all day long in my truck, yet, I can't remember the beats nor the 'momentum' of any of the tracks. And I wonder how this poor memory for music (and movies too) works against me. Me on the other hand I cant do it at all. She will hear it once and next time it plays on the radio she will sing every lyric to the song right to the end. I have friends, even my 11 year old daughter could memorize songs better then me. I don't know if it's cause I smoked too much as a teen or it's simply just the way I am. but verses i couldn't care less about, so i have a way harder time recalling them. like lyrics, sure i can remember a chorus since it's repetitive most of the time. even when a dj is transitioning i can instantly tell what the dj is going to play next.īut there are some things i just don't give a shit about, so i have a harder time recalling them because i straight up don't pay attention to them. i can remember songs and the artists really well and can usually tell what song is on by the first couple of notes. if it's something that i'm interested in i'm razor sharp at remembering it. At school, I like to learn about biology and vocab and all that so it's just easy to remember.

I can remember if I played a track or not in a set without indicators (my iPad program doesn't have them yet.)
